Week ending 18 November 2011
Work has started and we're hearing all kinds of strange and exciting noises from next door. All of us know, of course, that Hoxton Hall has a long and fascinating history, and the building works have turned it into a bit of an excavation site. The contractors, as amateur archaeologists, have unearthed a number of fascinating objects from the depths of HH. One we were most fascinated by was the Coke can, which after a bit of research we learned dates from 1966, based on its Harlequin pattern. Stay tuned to see what other treasures will emerge...
Week ending 14 October 2011
So we've been a bit behind in updating the site, but that's because we've been busy moving and getting settled in our new space next door at Hoxton Works. We're still in a state of flux (as evidenced by the continued presence of the boxes), but we've got a bit more space and some great office buddies - Hoxton Street Management and Rosebery Management! The good news is that, after three and a half years, we've finally secured our building contract and appointed a contractor - Firmco. Work should start in 2-3 weeks on HH's long- needed facelift.
Week ending 26 August 2011
This week it's performance time in the theatre for the Hipnotic Dance Ensemble, so lots still going on in the building. Behind the scene's there's been excitement and disappointment: we've held an Open Day for shortlisted contractors to discuss ideas and plans - yay! The HMRC has turned down our first request for the building works to be VAT exempt. Boo. We've commissioned designers to ensure we have stimulating and stylish interior and exterior signage. Double yay!
Week ending 19 August 2011
Lots of activity still going on in the building with the Get Creative and Hipnotic Summer projects! Behind the scenes we are busy packing boxes. Our office is moving next door to Hoxton Works in September, so we need to get packing!
