Hoxton Hall is a Grade II* listed Victorian Music Hall nestled in the heart of East London and is the home of contemporary performance. We host a range of productions from new writing and live music to immersive experiences and the best in stand-up, whilst building a reputation for developing some of the most exciting emerging London talent.

Hoxton Hall is a magnificent theatre, music and events venue with rehearsal and learning spaces as well as recording studios for young people in Hackney. We have pioneered creative engagement and community partnerships throughout Shoreditch since 1863, earning Hoxton Hall its place as a key provider of an ongoing programme of diverse performance and youth arts activities in the local area.

Hoxton Hall are committed to ensuring creativity is accessible to everyone regardless of age, background or ability. We offer a unique space for venue hire and have served a wide spectrum of clients with diverse needs.  We’ve had the opportunity to welcome and work with some leading organisations and artists from the BBC to globally acclaimed artist Patti Smith, the prestigious Victoria and Albert Museum and show stopping English National Opera.

In addition to providing a performance and exhibition space, we’ve also acted as a film location on numerous occasions for the likes of Ralph Fiennes’ The Invisible Woman. Whether you have a desire to perform,  need an inspiring workspace, unique location to film, or a venue for that  special event, we welcome you to explore and discover Hoxton Hall and the many ways in which we anchor the Shoreditch community.

We are one of the only five surviving examples of a salon-style music hall.  A significant capital works project was completed between 2013 and 2015, funded through the My Place scheme through Heritage Lottery.  The work included restoring and upgrading the hall and surrounding  spaces and improving accessibility throughout the building. Hoxton Hall has now served the local community for more than 150 years.

After the extensive renovation of the performance Hall and the surrounding spaces we are excited to embark on re-establishing of a unique mix of professional performance, community, youth participation and enterprise in this  creative hub at the heart Hoxton.

Hoxton Hall is a place that nods to past as it assuredly strides to its future as a variety hall for the 21st Century. Providing a performance platform for up and coming and established artists, reinventing variety for a new generation; nurturing the creation of new works from established artists and young companies that respond to place and space, exploiting the unique viewing experience in this old building.
