JESSICA DRAPER
Jessica specialises in working with marginalised groups, and she has been producing creative learning programmes for over ten years with international organisations and broadcasting companies such as Crisis UK, BBC1, BBC Radio 2 and Channel 4. Since 2013 she has led the education and community engagement programme for Synergy Theatre Project, working with young people and those who have experienced the criminal justice system. In her career, Jessica successfully brokered partnerships with V&A, Royal Opera House, Southbank Centre and Morley College and acquired multi-year funding to supports her projects. She is currently a visiting lecturer at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and Roehampton University.
HAYLEY MILLER
Haley is an HR Professional working with and supporting senior teams as they work through Organisational/Structural Change and Business Transformation. She is also involved in work surrounding Coaching, Team and Leadership development. Outside of work, Hayley is a creative and visual person who has always been attracted to the Arts. With a great passion for dance and the theatre in various formats, she is as well keen on supporting, nurturing and developing young talents. After many years in living and working in the East End, Hayley joined the team at Hoxton Hall with great enthusiasm, proudly sharing her support for “a great piece of our London heritage”.
CHRISTOPHER MURRAY (Chair)
Christopher is an experienced professional with excellent organisational skills, who is energetic, driven and highly motivated. His passion is early intervention and prevention for children, young people and families. He believes in collaborative working and have established close working relationships with voluntary and community groups and external partners such as the Local Authority, local MP’s, Colleges, training providers and employers to further support the Early Intervention and Prevention agenda. Christopher believes that one positive intervention for a child or young person can change their direction of travel for the better, with better life chances and outcomes for communities like Hoxton Hall.
TIM VAUGHAN
Tim had a substantial career as a chartered accountant for financial services in London, working in Canary Wharf from 2010. He is now focusing on the non-profit sector, and acts as trustee for a range of charities based in East London. In late 2017 he made contact with Hoxton Hall through the East London Business Alliance, having worked with the latter in several schools projects. He initially joined the board as director of Hoxton Works, and was appointed as a Hoxton Hall’s Trustee a year later.
DEBORAH WILLIAMS
Deborah is a writer, theatre-maker, producer, digital composer and accredited coach. She was an actor with Graeae Theatre Company, worked with the London Disability Arts Forum, and started her own production company, Reality Productions, in 1999. Deborah also worked with Arts Council England, Rich Mix and BFI leading on equality and diversity in creative cultural programmes. In her work as an independent “artist provocateur”, Deborah aims to be a catalyst for challenge and change in perceptions of disability and difference. She is currently executive director of the Creative Diversity Network, a television industry body which focuses on improving diversity in broadcasting.
ALISTAIR ELDER
Alistair is a management consultant who specialises in strategy and client engagement. He began his career as a UK diplomat serving in a number of roles over 16 years. He then joined the private sector working and living in a range of countries before returning to the UK in 2016. Alistair holds several Board/Advisory positions in the education and charity sectors as well as being an International Trade Ambassador for the Institute of Directors.
IAN HUNT (Director of Hoxton Workspaces)
Ian is a qualified accountant with many years of experience across a range of industries including finance and theatre. Ian was recently Finance Manager for The Broadway Theatre and General Manager for The Broadway Trading and he’s now semi-retired. Ian joined Hoxton Hall’s trustees board in 2018 aiming to blend his high accountancy skills with his passion for theatre and live performances.
HORACE McDONALD
Horace is a Commercial Director with multi-industry experience in delivering excellence from multi-nationals through to medium sized businesses. He has extensive experience of helping teams achieve their business and personal development goals, through mentoring and coaching. The bulk of his time has been spent working in the music industry and he is closely involved in the career of his daughter who is signed to a major record label.
