A joyful evening of music at the piano with the daughter of the legendary Chas Hodges of ‘Chas & Dave’
Join Kate on a trip down memory lane, from singalongs around the piano at family parties, to the good old days of Music Hall, and classics from the 1920’s & 30’s.
Hear tales of growing up in a musical London family and the life changing moment from her childhood when her dad bought her a gramophone and box of 78’s from a flea market. Listen to the fascinating stories behind some of these legendary songs and how they helped inspire Kate’s own writing style and a successful career as a singer/songwriter, something her dad Chas always encouraged her to pursue.
Kate’s music has featured on television and radio around the world. A recent highlight was writing a song for the Platinum Jubilee which led to an appearance on BBC Radio 4’s ‘Woman’s Hour’ and a letter from Queen Elizabeth herself.
The show will also feature specially recorded video performances of Kate playing with special guests, including none other than Dave Peacock, her Godfather, and the other half of ‘Chas & Dave’.
