The Windrush Project

November 24, 2020

Our Youth Arts team are delighted to announce the launch of our latest project based on The Windrush generation. This intergenerational project will involve young people interviewing and documenting stories of people from the Caribbean who came to live in the UK between1948 and 1971.

The young participants will record their stories and gain skills in documentary making, journalism as well as learning about the history of this group of people. The project will culminate in an exhibition to be launched at Hoxton Hall in the New Year.

So if you’re aged 12 -18 yrs and are interested in being a part of the creative team, and are available on Tuesdays 5 til 6pm, starting in the New Year, please get in touch via email.

We’re also looking for local people who came to the UK from the Caribbean and who would like to share their stories with us.

If that’s you, email us now at  youtharts@hoxtonhall.co.uk.
